Data Protection Declaration

Purpose: The purpose of collecting this data is to identify and manage demand for self-build and custom build projects. The Borough Council of Kings Lynn and West Norfolk as data processor is hosting the collection of this data on behalf of the Broads Authority, Breckland Council and South Norfolk Council who are the data controllers. We take your privacy very seriously and lawfully process your personal information in our official capacity, fulfilling our legal obligation.

The information provided on this form will be added to the Custom Build Register(s) that you have chosen. The Registers will be stored centrally by the Borough Council of Kings Lynn and West Norfolk and held in line with Data Protection Legislation. Data Protection Legislation means the Data Protection Act 1998 as long as it is in force and thereafter the General Data Protection Regulation (EC) 2016/679 any national implementing laws and any other applicable legislation.

Third Parties: Partner authorities will be able to download the Register and forms that relates to their area only and this will be stored and processed in line with Data Protection Legislation. Please note that this information may be shared with the other partner authorities of the shared register, which may change. The partner authorities are currently:

Data Use: The data recorded in the Register(s) may be used by the authorities in the following ways:

Anonymised, collated data from the Registers may be published by the authorities in reports or other publicly accessible material. No data which could reasonably be attributed to an individual on the Registers will be published without explicit consent.

Subject to explicit consent being received to the relevant questions as part of an individual submission, contact information recorded on the Register(s) may be provided to relevant third parties who have been identified as potentially offering appropriate opportunities to deliver self-build housing projects. If you no longer want to be contacted by future relevant third parties, please email planningpolicy@broads-authority.gov.uk. However any previous third parties you have already been contacted by will need to be contacted directly.

We will use your email or postal address to acknowledge receipt of your registration form.

Lawful Basis of Processing Data:

We will process data provided to us on the application on the basis of carrying out tasks in the public interest/power vested in each Local Planning Authority.

Data Retention (http://www.broads-authority.gov.uk/planning/planning-privacy): We will retain your details on the Register. When no longer required in line with this policy, King’s Lynn and West Norfolk will destroy or return data shared with them by the data controllers. You can at any time ask us to remove your details from the Register by contacting planningpolicy@broads-authority.gov.uk.
